A wife, a mom, a nurse anesthesia provider, and a woman who has walked this road.

Hi, I’m Dr. Bright.
I am a nurse anesthesia provider by profession, and I have been practicing in that role for more than fourteen years. I love my work. But my journey into root-cause wellness did not come from a hospital or an operating room. It came from my own life.
Outside of my work, I walked my own health journey. PCOS. Ten years of infertility that stretched longer than I ever thought I could endure. Insulin resistance. Unexplained weight gain that would not budge, no matter what I tried. For a long time, my standard labs read as “normal” on paper, and it was easy to write off what I was feeling as just life, or age, or stress.
But my body was telling a different story, and I wanted real answers.
So I did what my background in the sciences had trained me to do. I read. I researched. I translated a wave of labs and medical literature that felt overwhelming to most people, until the patterns started to become clear. I learned about root causes. I learned that “normal on paper” is not the same as feeling like yourself again. And slowly, through informed, consistent, grounded choices, my body began to respond.
Then came the journey I never saw coming.
As a mother, I watched my own child move through a cluster of symptoms that did not fit one tidy explanation. Not pointing when other children were. Not talking when other children were. Sleep that would not settle. Digestive issues. A long list of small “off” things that added up to a big knot in my chest as a mom.
I walked into every appointment as a nurse, a scientist, and a mother, and I asked question after question. I learned how many of these symptoms, in children, can trace back to root-cause areas we don’t always think to look at: gut, sleep, nutrient status, inflammation, environment.
I am not formally trained in functional medicine. What I have is years of personal research as a mother, my background in the sciences, and a deep conviction that women, and parents, deserve real education. Not fear. Not hype. Not “you should have.” Just education.
That is what Bright Within was built to provide.
Bright Within is an education-based wellness platform. I created it for two groups of women who are ready to dig deeper:
Dealing with PCOS, perimenopause, or unexplained hormonal symptoms. Wanting deeper education about their labs than a standard appointment can offer. Looking for root-cause understanding to complement their medical care.
Seeking to understand the root causes behind symptoms their child is experiencing. Wanting real education to work in partnership with their child’s care team. Looking to feel informed and confident as their child’s advocate.
I work alongside conventional medicine, never against it. My role is to fill the education gap between a short appointment and the real understanding you deserve. So you can ask better questions, advocate with confidence, and make informed decisions from the inside out.

The more I walked my own journey, the more I realized something women are rarely told: you cannot keep pouring out of a cup that is never refilled. Caring for ourselves matters just as much as caring for the people we love.
That conviction is why I co-founded Saxira Aesthetic and Wellness, a space of rejuvenation where we help women look their best, feel their best, and be their best.
Saxira and Bright Within are two sides of the same calling. Saxira is where we pour into how you show up in the world. Bright Within is where we pour into how you understand what is happening inside you, and inside your home.
Visit Saxira Aesthetic and Wellness →I teach. I don’t diagnose and I don’t treat. Everything here is meant to help you become a better informed partner in your own care, and in your child’s care.
No hype. No fear language. No “you should have.” Just honest education, in plain language, from someone who has walked this road.
Come as you are. Whatever stage you are in, whatever questions you are carrying, you are welcome here. This is a space of grace and learning.
My faith quietly informs everything I do here. It shapes the patience, the grace, and the deep belief that every woman, and every child, is worthy of care, understanding, and real answers. I do this work, in all of its parts, for His glory.
